Katy ISD continues trailblazing academic achievement for large school districts, with 330 students earning the AP Capstone Diploma™ and 27 students earning the AP Seminar and Research Certificate™ during the 2025 – 2026 school year.

The 2026 fall athletics season is underway across Katy ISD, with the area’s top student-athletes representing their schools in football, volleyball, cross country and team tennis.

Cheers, applause and pride filled the Leonard E. Merrell Center as Katy ISD celebrated its 2026 Summer Graduating Class, recognizing 68 students who took their next steps toward college, careers, technical education or military service.

The Katy ISD Board of Trustees approved a $1.17 billion General Operating Fund budget for the 2026 – 2027 fiscal year at its August 24 meeting, part of a $1.48 billion total budget that also funds food service and debt service. The budget is supported by a proposed total tax rate of $1.1171 per $100 of valuation — unchanged from last year. The Board reviewed the proposed rate earlier this month and is scheduled to formally adopt it in September.

Katy ISD students earned three national championships and multiple Top 10 finishes at the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) National Leadership Conference, showcasing the District's commitment to preparing students for success in business, leadership and entrepreneurship.
